Brian Halligan
Brian Halligan CEO, Co-Founder Read bio

Brian Halligan is the co-founder and CEO of HubSpot, a customer relationship management (CRM) platform. HubSpot was founded in 2006, was first listed on the NYSE in 2014, and has grown to over $1 billion in revenue serving more than 100,000 customers worldwide. Prior to starting HubSpot, Brian was a Venture Partner at Longworth Ventures and VP of Sales at Groove Networks, which was acquired by Microsoft. Previously, Brian was a Senior VP of Sales at PTC.

Brian has been named to Glassdoor’s annual top CEO list several times, listed by Comparably as one of the Top 5 Best CEOs of a Large Company as well as Top 5 Best CEOs for Women and for Diversity. 

He has co-authored two books, "Inbound Marketing: Get Found Using Google, Social Media, and Blogs" with Dharmesh Shah, and "Marketing Lessons From The Grateful Dead" with David Meerman Scott and Bill Walton. He is also a senior lecturer at MIT's Sloan School Of Management where he teaches Course 15.392 called "Scaling Entrepreneurial Ventures." He was co-founder of Zinio Systems, a San Francisco-based digital publishing technology company. John started his legal career at the Boston office of Mintz Levin, a national law firm.

John was a 2014 In-House Leader by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. He previously served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, based in San Diego, where his tours of duty included deployment to the Persian Gulf during Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

When not in Cambridge, John spends time with his family on the South Shore, coaching youth soccer, surfing, mountain biking and generally trying not to hurt himself. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a JD, magna cum laude, from Boston College Law School.

Eric was previously the Chief Architect at SPSS and the VP of Engineering at Idiom Technologies. Eric began his career as the co-founder and CTO of NetGenesis, an online software company that went public in 2000 and was later acquired by SPSS.

In his spare time, Eric spends time with his family, enjoys movies, and works to become a better runner. He holds a BS in Computer Science from MIT.

Dharmesh Shah is co-founder and CTO of HubSpot. Prior to founding HubSpot in 2006, Dharmesh was founder and CEO of Pyramid Digital Solutions, which was acquired by SunGard Data Systems in 2005.

In addition to co-authoring “Inbound Marketing: Get Found Using Google, Social Media and Blogs”, Dharmesh founded and writes for OnStartups.com -- a top-ranking startup blog and community with more than 700,000 members.

In 2013, Dharmesh published HubSpot’s Culture Code, which has garnered nearly four million views on SlideShare. Named an Inc. Founders 40 in 2016, he is an active member of the Boston-area entrepreneurial community, an angel investor in over 60 startups, and a frequent speaker on startups, inbound marketing, and company culture.

Prior to that, Mr. Caldwell held the position of Vice President of Engineering for Reddit, a social media startup, from October 2016 to October 2018. Mr. Cadwell also spent fifteen years at Microsoft and held various positions, culminating with an executive role as General Manager for the Power BI product organization. Mr. Caldwell was selected to serve as a director on our board due to his technical expertise and extensive experience in scaling product organizations.
